We are proud to offer the services of 2 experienced orthopedic surgeons to help with your dog/cat’s mobility concerns. Our goal is to provide the best care possible at a more affordable price, and without the long distance travel for pets and owners. Our team wishes to assist you in getting your pet moving again and comfortable. We are a full service veterinary practice with amazing resources and team members. We’re expanding our services and opening our doors to help pet parents with Orthopedic Surgery needs near us.

Our Referral Program for Orthopedics is Simple

The pet’s referring veterinarian can refer to us by simply emailing their request to molly@dorrvetclinic.com and attaching the patient’s history/records. X-rays needed for the TPLO surgery, need to be specific angles and with a calibration ball. We are happy to complete these for the patient, or we can share the requirements so patients can complete this with their referring vet too. Clients can call to schedule their initial examination with Dorr Vet and then we will provide a customized estimate and schedule a surgery day for the patient.

Some of Our Orthopedic Procedures:

TPLO

(Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy)

This surgery treats knee joint ruptures in dogs by cutting and rotating the shinbone’s top (tibial plateau) and stabilizing it with screws and a plate.

MRIT

(Modified Retinacular Imbrication Technique)

The surgeon makes an incision to explore the knee joint, assess the CCL and check for arthritis or meniscal injury. If there is any meniscal injury, it is partially removed.

FHO

(Femoral Head Ostectomy)

During FHO surgery, the femoral head is removed, leaving the hip socket empty. Scar tissue develops between the femur and acetabulum to hold the femur in place.

Luxating Patella

Surgical repair of the patella (knee cap) involves relocating its attachment point, deepening the femur groove, and tightening the joint capsule.
