Dr. Kayce Koski is a 2009 graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Science. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at MSU in 2001 as well. There she had interests in studying large animal medicine as well as small animal medicine and was a successful veterinary associate in several other practices prior to her time with Dorr Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Kayce is a 1997 Wayland Union High School Graduate and in January 2011 she moved back “home” to SW Michigan to be closer to family. June 2015 was a huge milestone date in Dr. Kayce’s medical career, as she purchased Dorr Veterinary Clinic from the previous owner, Dr. Ames Grobstein.

She currently resides here in Dorr, MI with her 10 year old son, her new husband Phil, their 15 year old son, their 4 dogs, 4 cats and a few chickens! These four legged family members include a 6 year old rescued mix breed named “Alice,” a 2 year old pup named “Louie,” a rott named Luci and chihuahua named “Buddy”.

Dr. Kayce enjoys her time with her family at their cottage and in all their sports activities. She also likes long-distance running and volunteering with the school and adventures in her BRONCO. Dr. Kayce Koski is an active member with these veterinary medical associations: the AVMA, MVMA and the SW MVMA group. Our team is delighted to have had nearly 7 years with Dr. Kayce as our leader already and we are SUPER excited for the future direction of the clinic and all the years to come with her.

Molly Spica-Hesselink

Practice Manager

Education: Michigan State University

Hometown: Caledonia, MI

Pets: Benny, Quinn, Rookie, Charm, Gunner, Flicka, Minnie

Molly S. is our practice manager and comes with previous vet clinic, small business, analytical chemistry and veterinary industry experience.  All this helps to diversify her as a leader for our practice.  She is a 2007 Michigan State Graduate and previously attended Caledonia High School (1999-2003).  Molly now spends the majority of her time outside work, raising her 11 year old daughter in Byron Center.  Together they enjoy softball and volunteering with the Equest Center for Handicapped Riding Facility in Rockford, Michigan.  Molly is a Kent County 4-H Alumni and a proud supporter of the Caledonia FFA.  Her family has a passion for caring for others and they spend a fair amount of time advocating for children in the Good Samaritan’s Home in Bangladesh (India), with the International Promise Foundation organization.

Interesting fact:  Molly grew up with horses and on the rodeo circuit, competing nationwide.  She has had experience in small animal medicine vet clinics and large animal practices.  With a college education in animal husbandry and reproduction, her medical exposure goes across many planes of study.  Her favorite part of the job is the client relations, creating the customer service experience and building a positive culture for everyone at Dorr Vet.

At home, she has a 10 year old Beagle “Quinn,” a 12 year old Laboradoodle “Benny,” and a 6 month old mini-aussie named “Rookie.”

And living here at the clinic she has a retired Quarter Horse Gelding named “Gunner,” a QH yearling, born here at Dorr Vet last winter, named “Charm,” and a QH palomino mare named “Minnie.”

Molly loves to volunteer at the school and assist with class projects, travel with her whole family, camp/fish and promote Dorr Vet Clinic everywhere she goes!  Molly’s second career calls her AUNTIE, 8 tiny humans do anyway.

She now calls herself a WIFE too, after marrying Adam in October 2021!

Veterinary Technicians

Molly M., LVT

Veterinary Technician

Education: Colorado Mountain College

Hometown: Dorr, MI

Pets: Leyla and TJ

Dorr Veterinary Clinic currently has 4 Veterinary Technicians and Molly M. is our senior technician, as she has been with us for 7+ years now.  Molly is known as “our stray cat” that always finds her way back home to us.  She was a childhood client at the clinic, that enjoyed coming here with her pets and was asked repeatedly to become a part of our team as a young adult.  Molly is a 2007 graduate of Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School and has attended GRCC for career training as well as Colorado Mountain College.  It is CMC that was lucky enough to grant our incredible Molly, her Licensed Vet Tech status in 2012.  Molly has held a variety of jobs, including those in the veterinary industry, which help make her a well-rounded employee and outstanding communicator.

You should know it is very common for Dorr Veterinary Clinic employees to adopt animals that arrive at the clinic in various ways and need a forever home.  Molly became a parent to her now 9 year old lab mix named “Leyla,” when she came to the clinic at 7 weeks old and needed some veterinary attention.  She enjoys the company of horses, which she pastures at her parent’s home in Dorr and raising Hereford Beef/Show Cattle with her in-laws in Hopkins, MI.  4-H was a great contributor to Molly’s youth and she hopes to continue the tradition with her daughter and son.  Molly is a devoted wife to husband Charles and mother to their two children and beef herd.  Our team here loves to cheer Molly and Charles on each season as they travel to shows all over with top-notch beef cattle.

Veterinary Assistants

Samantha

Samantha

Veterinary Assistant

Hometown: Hopkins, MI

Pets: Pasha, Rosie and Smudge

Samantha is one of our veterinary assistants/receptionists and was our kennel manager and kennel attendant…..Sam has grown up here for the last 10 years. A graduate of Hopkins High School in 2013, she was born and raised in the area. She attended GRCC where she received an associate degree in Liberal Arts in 2016, before transferring to Western Michigan and graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature. With plans to attend grad school in the future, Samantha is taking a couple years off before deciding where to purse her Masters.

Samantha’s house is never short of chaos with two energetic dogs and one mildly evil cat running amok. AND NOW A HERD OF NEPHEWS TOO!!! She’s a sucker for any animal, she has a hard time not adopting every animal she sees on a daily basis. Each pet in her family has been adopted or taken in, the most recent being “Rosie,” a now four-year-old mix who comes to work with Samantha often and may or may not judge you if you look at her wrongly (she will most definitely judge you).

Family is incredibly important to Samantha. A devoted daughter, sister and auntie, she spends as much time with her family as possible. Fun Fact: her sister was previously an employee at DVC a long time ago and likes to take credit for the fact that Samantha works there now.

An avid reader, Samantha takes every opportunity she can to sneak away with a book, get lost in the shelves as Barnes and Noble, or pour over her many manuscripts and wonder which one will someday be on shelves across the world.
